1981 Kawasaki KZ1000P Police Bike
This motorcycle began duty as a San Diego Police vehicle. She was used as a training motorcycle
for new officers to sharpen their skills. In 1987 she was traded in for a new one and a
customer in the Kawasaki dealer scooped her up. He road this former police motorcycle for the next decade
and in 2003 he decided to go though this beauty and get her back to her days of glory.
The engine and transmission were gone through and freshened up at the dealership. The frame was sand blasted and
powder coated and parts were sent out for re-chroming. All the original style police parts were sought after and
painstakingly rewired back onto the motorcycle. The tank and fairing were painted and striped.
Due to some health concerns, the owner realized that she wasn't being ridden like she should be so after
thirty five years of enjoying this outstanding motorcycle I was lucky enough to purchase her.
She was shipped across the Country and now she's a great addition in the ManCave. I've replaced the battery,
tires, rebuilt the brake calipers, and fixed a few minor things.
Finally, I had California Highway Patrol decals printed and applied them to complete the look I wanted.
I hope I can enjoy this beauty for the next thirty five years!
